Responsibilities
- Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, and secure messaging during night and weekend shifts
- Coordinate urgent care appointments and triage medical concerns
- Maintain accurate patient records in EMR systems with 99% data integrity
- Collaborate with on-call physicians and care teams for seamless patient handoffs
- Process insurance verifications and billing documentation
- Implement HIPAA-compliant protocols for sensitive patient information
- Contribute to process improvements for after-hours service efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience in healthcare or related field
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong conflict resolution skills with high-stakes situations
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision
- Certified in HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy regulations
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and overnight hours
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Experience with Epic or similar EMR systems a major plus
