Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology departments
- Operate and calibrate automated laboratory equipment following strict protocols
- Ensure specimen integrity through proper collection, processing, and storage procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Adhere to CLIA, CAP, and OSHA regulations for laboratory safety and compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely test results for patient diagnosis
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and proficiency testing
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (required)
- ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during weekend shifts
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and EHR platforms
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work occasional holidays as needed
